Olivia Ruiz: Life Story and Artistic Career

Hello, dear readers! With this page, we would like to express our admiration of the French song singer, writer, and actress, Olivia Ruiz. If you have been mesmerized by her class, poetry, and performance, here is the place to share and express all your impressions and experiences. Meanwhile, we expect with great patience the launch of her sixth album in 2020.

The Roots of Upbringing

The young chanteuse is born in a small village, Carcassonne, on 1st of January of the new year – the 1980s. Her family heritage line could be traced back to Spain. She shares in an interview that she and her brother were obsessed with their family history who escaped the Franconian regime. Signing has always been a part of her family as she claims that her grandparents and parents often used to sing in the café they owned. Her father was a member of a band group who was launched on TV. The singer states that touring is what she liked the most about her father’s career. She remembers how a large bus came in front of the bar and his friends were inside. She enjoyed the adventure of it.

Inspiration

Olivia is an ardent lover of her hometown place. Even though she lived in Paris for 16 years, the creativity in her musical career originates from the local region of Aude. During her childhood, she often changed locations. The singer lived in the small village of Marseillette, town Narbonne, and following her studies in Montpellier. The South of France is the area where she feels most happy about living. Her dream is to have a house with a garden when she grows veggies, and her son can run. Songs related to her hometown – the village of Marseillette

  • ‘La fille de vent’ (La Femme Chocolat, 2005) is a song inspired by the fierce winds that go around the small village of Marseillette where she grew up.

The Meaning of Her Last Name

Ruiz is the last name of her grandma. She kept the name as her designation since the singer believes that her family is one who willingly goes all the way for their ideas. She chose the name as a tribute to their suffering due to the uprooting in Spain. Olivia also had a powerful connection with her grandma. Spanish songs in her art:

The singer wishes to free herself from it. Anne Ancelin Schützenberger is the woman who helps her journey of self-awareness and also an important person in her life. Therefore, two of her songs are devoted to the 90-years old lady – ‘L’Ombre du Vent’ and ‘Dans ma Chambre de Dame’. Although she confirms that Anne likes the songs, her life is nothing like the songs describe.

The Best Concert of Her Life

The best concert she ever had was in Carcassonne in 2013. It was a very emotional moment for her. She sang at the summer festival. A lot of memories appeared into her mind and she could not remember crying that much at a concert. In her teenage years, she took part every summer in the medieval show of the city. It was the place where she made her first steps on stage as a dancer and actress. Apart from performing, she enjoys gambling online. Rather tech-savvy, she knows where to find all the best Klarna casinos, and enjoys the thrill of the game.

Mission of a Feminist

Olivia confirms that she supports feminism as long as both men and women get equal pay. But she does not recognise herself as a watchdog. The French artist wishes that there are prospect for those actresses who wish to perform in the world they live in.
